Doug Houghton, Technical Analyst

Doug Houghton is a technical analyst and The Brock Report’s news editor. A member of the Brock Associates team since 1997, Doug came to Brock Associates after nine years with Agridata News Service/Top Farmer Intelligence. Doug is a graduate of Marquette University with a degree in journalism. When he’s not researching and writing for Brock Associates, Doug can be found reading, playing golf, participating in trivia contests and watching sports, particularly the Green Bay Packers and Marquette basketball.

David Hallerman, Commodity Research Analyst

David Hallerman is the commodity research analyst who is responsible for the charts and graphics used in our various publications and presentations. David’s prior professional experience includes agronomy consulting and grain elevator merchandising. He is a 1983 graduate of the University of Illinois with a degree in agriculture and received his MBA in finance from Keller Graduate School of Management in 1997. Outside of work, David gardens, hikes, reads, plays softball and hones his investment strategies.

Ian Berry, Assistant Editor/Researcher

Ian Berry is the newest member of the Brock Associates’ Publications Team. Prior to joining Brock Associates in 2013, Ian was an agribusiness reporter for the Wall Street Journal, WSJ.com and Dow Jones Newswires. He gained additional experience as a commodities reporter for the Dow Jones Newswires covering grain futures, with an emphasis on corn and rice, from the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade. Prior to that, he was an award-winning reporter specializing in politics and environmental issues for daily newspapers in Tennessee and South Carolina. Ian is a graduate of La Salle University with a Bachelor’s degree in communication and English. In his off hours, Ian enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, traveling and watching sports—particularly the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and college basketball. He’s also always in search of a good pulled pork plate.
