USDA’s annual Small Grains Summary report, which is due out Friday morning, is expected to show little change in 2022 U.S. wheat production relative to the agency’s previous crop estimate released on Aug. 12.

Pre-report trade estimates of U.S. all-wheat production average 1.778 billion bushels, 5 million bushels below USDA’s August estimate in a narrow range from 17.50-1.790 billion bushels, according to a survey of 15 analysts by Reuters News Service.

Trade expectations for all-winter wheat production average 1.191 billion bushels, 7 million bushels below USDA’s August estimate, in a range from 1.165-1.204 billion bushels.

Pre-report expectations for “other” spring wheat production average 514 million bushels, just 2 million above USDA’s August estimate, in a range from 503-525 million bushels. Trade estimates of durum production average 74 million bushels, unchanged from USDA’s August estimate.
