There is no USDA Crop Progress report, but here are our weekly harvest progress estimates!
- Corn: An estimated increase of about 13%% for the past week, putting our estimate for national corn harvest progress at 31% for 10/5. Slightly below the 5-Year Average.
- Soybeans: Our estimated weekly progress was 21%, getting our national estimate up to 40%. This keeps the soybean harvest slightly within the 5-year range.
- Analyst Average Estimates: As mentioned in our closing comments on Monday, 12 analyst estimates averaged 31% for corn harvest and 38% for soybeans. Our estimate for corn is the same, but for soybeans, we are slightly higher than the trade estimate due to the suspicion that many producers have been rushed to get them off the field due to low moisture content.
- Looking forward to the next week, there is a chance of some slower harvest progress with varied rain throughout the Midwest. See the weekly rainfall map below.
- Cotton: We estimated weekly progress of 6.8%. This puts national progress at 22.8% right above the 5-Year Average of 22%.
- Rice: We estimate weekly progress to be 6.8%, bringing the national harvest progress to 86.6%, the highest for 10/5 for the last 5 Years.
